In September this year, the Prisoner Learning Alliance submitted evidence to the Joint Committee on Human Rights’ inquiry into black people, racism and human rights.

In our submission, we talk about how structural inequalities in education can make involvement in the criminal justice system more likely. We also highlight some of the data gaps which prevent us from gaining a full understanding of  black people’s background and experiences of education while in prison.
